Privacy policy

1. Who we are

This policy explains how Editor de Vídeo Online (“we”, “us”) processes personal data of people who use the website, the blog and the editor at editordevideoonline.com (the “Service”). It follows the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD) and, for users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the GDPR.

Editor de Vídeo Online is the controller of the data described here. For any privacy matter, including contacting our data protection officer, email privacidade@editordevideoonline.com.

2. What stays on your device

Editor de Vídeo Online is built to run in your browser. Everything you create is processed and stored on your own computer or phone, in the browser storage (IndexedDB and localStorage):

• images and photos you upload, cutouts, layers and edits;
• recorded videos, clips and Studio montages;
• imported elements, audio and text used to plan video timing;
• preferences such as theme, open panels and settings.

This content is not sent to our servers. If you clear the site data in your browser, or switch browsers or computers, we cannot recover it. Keep a copy of the videos you want to save (they download as MP4 or WebM files).

3. Data we collect

We only collect what is needed to provide your account and subscription:

• Account: name, email and password. Passwords are never stored in plain text (we use one-way hashing).
• Profile (optional): nickname, photo, occupation, website or social profile, bio, phone, date of birth, country, city and company or school — only what you choose to fill in.
• Subscription and payment: chosen plan, billing cycle, invoice history and a card summary (brand, last 4 digits and expiry date). The full card number and security code are handled directly by the payment provider and are never stored by Editor de Vídeo Online.
• Communication: whether you want tips and news by email, and the messages you send to support.
• Technical data: server access logs (IP address, date and time, browser and page), used for security and fraud prevention.

4. AI background removal

In Paper effect, the “Remove with AI” button downloads to your browser the code and AI model of the open-source @imgly/background-removal library, served by jsDelivr and IMG.LY. These services receive the usual technical data of any download (such as IP address and browser).

Your photo is not uploaded: the cutout is computed on your computer. The “Plain background” option and manual selection work without this download.

5. Title fonts (Google Fonts)

When you add titles to a video, your browser downloads the chosen fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Google receives the usual technical data of any download, such as IP address and browser. The text of your titles is not sent: it is drawn on your computer. If you do not use titles, no fonts are downloaded.

6. How we use data and our legal bases

We do not use your data for automated decisions that affect you, or to build advertising profiles.

7. Cookies and browser storage

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking tools. Your browser only stores what the Service needs to work:

• Session: keeps you signed in (including “Keep me signed in on this computer”).
• Preferences: light or dark theme, open panels, settings and editor choices.
• Your work: images, cutouts, library and videos, as described above.

You can delete all of this in your browser settings (“clear site data”). Note that this also deletes the work saved in the editor.

8. Who we share data with

We never sell or rent personal data. We only share what is necessary with:

• Payment provider, to process the subscription securely;
• Hosting and infrastructure, where account data is stored;
• Email delivery service, for account messages (such as password resets) and, if you agree, news;
• Public authorities, when required by law or court order.

These partners may only use the data to provide their service to us and must keep it safe.

9. International transfers

Some providers (for example hosting, email or payments) may store data outside your country. When that happens we use the safeguards required by law, such as standard contractual clauses.

10. How long we keep data

• Account and profile data: while your account exists. When you delete your account, we erase this data within 30 days.
• Invoices and tax records: for the period required by tax law (usually 5 years).
• Access logs: 6 months.
• Content in your browser: stays on your device until you delete it.

11. Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, restricted access to data and providers with good security practices. No system is 100% secure: if an incident could put you at risk, we will notify you and the competent authorities as required by law.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• know whether we process your data and access it;
• correct incomplete or outdated data;
• delete your data or restrict its processing;
• receive your data in a portable format;
• object to processing based on legitimate interests;
• withdraw consent (for example, for news emails);
• request a review of decisions made solely by automated means.

You can do a lot yourself on the My account page: edit your profile, turn off news emails, change your password and delete your account. For anything else, email privacidade@editordevideoonline.com. We reply within 15 days (30 days under the GDPR). You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Brazil, the ANPD).

13. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and they must not create an account. Teenagers aged 13 to 17 (or below the age of digital consent in their country) may use Editor de Vídeo Online with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian. Schools and teachers using Editor de Vídeo Online with students must follow their institution’s rules and applicable law. If you believe a child has given us personal data, tell us and we will delete it.

14. Demo version

While Editor de Vídeo Online is in demo mode, sign-in, profile and subscription work only in your browser: no data is sent to servers and no charges are made. When accounts move to our servers, this policy will continue to apply to that data.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the Service or the law. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will let you know by email or inside Editor de Vídeo Online before it takes effect.
