Elements kit: build your collage animation piece by piece
Learn to create an elements sheet (icons, cutouts, arrows), import it into Editor de Vídeo Online and build your animated collage by dragging each piece.

You do not always have a finished collage. Sometimes you have loose pieces — icons, cutouts, arrows, tape — and want to build the composition your way. For that, Editor de Vídeo Online's Vox collage has the + Import elements section: you upload a sheet with several items, each becomes a piece in the library, and you build the scene by dragging. Here is how to create and use a collage elements kit.
What is an elements sheet?
It is an image with several separated items on a plain background, like a sticker sheet. Example contents:
- 3 or 4 people cutouts with white borders.
- Hand-drawn arrows and circles.
- Pieces of masking tape.
- Themed icons (clock, money, chart, light bulb).
- Newspaper clippings and paper notes.
How to get an elements sheet
Generate it with AI
The AI Prompts gallery has a Loose elements kit card. Fill in the theme, elements and colors, copy the prompt and paste it into ChatGPT or Gemini. The key is asking for items well spaced, not touching, on a plain background. More tips in AI image prompts ready to animate.
Build it yourself
In any editor (Canva, Photoshop, Figma), spread the items on an artboard with a single-color background and export a PNG. Leave at least a few pixels of space between pieces.
Reuse Paper effect cutouts
Cutouts made in the Paper effect can go straight into the collage with Add to collage, skipping the sheet.
Importing into Editor de Vídeo Online
- Open Vox collage and the + Import elements section.
- Upload the sheet. Each item becomes a piece in the library, with a thumbnail.
- If the separation is off, adjust Sensitivity and Join nearby parts — the separation is redone instantly.
| Problem | Setting |
|---|---|
| One icon became several pieces | Increase Join nearby parts |
| Two icons became one piece | Decrease Join nearby parts |
| Light parts disappeared | Adjust Sensitivity |
Building the collage
- Drag a thumbnail onto the preview (or click it). With no artwork open, a blank collage starts in the chosen format.
- Position it with the Move tool (V key).
- Adjust size and rotation in the right panel, with the corner handles or the + and − keys.
- Repeat with the other pieces. The blue dot on a thumbnail means it is already in the collage.
- Click Generate animation: each piece enters with the preset style's animation.
The library is saved in the browser, so you can reuse the same kit across many videos — great for keeping a series visually consistent.
Organizing layers
Once assembled, each piece is a layer with a number and color. You can hide, archive, merge and reorder them. See the guide to layers, merge and eraser. To choose entrances, use the entrance animations guide.
Composition best practices
- Start with the main element and build around it.
- Intentional overlaps (tape over a photo) add depth.
- Rotate cutouts slightly (2° to 8°) for a handmade feel.
- Keep margins for social media safe zones.
Frequently asked questions
What background should the elements sheet have?
A plain background in a color different from the items — white, beige or light gray. It makes automatic separation easier.
Can I mix imported pieces with a finished collage?
Yes. With artwork open, dragging a thumbnail adds the piece to the existing collage.
How many pieces should a collage have?
Between 5 and 12 pieces usually works well for short videos. Too many pieces clutter a phone screen.
Conclusion
An elements kit turns collage-making into a building game: upload the sheet once and reuse the pieces across many videos. Build your kit in Editor de Vídeo Online.
